Too many women in rural Arkansas have to travel hours to get the care they need during and after pregnancy. When local birthing units close, families are left with fewer options and more challenges during one of life’s most important times. That’s why we’re launching HEART Moms—Helping Expand Access to Rural maternal health care Transformation for Moms—in Ashley and Union counties. The program will bring quality care closer to home for families in South Arkansas through:

  • Mobile clinics
  • Group prenatal care
  • Virtual follow-ups
  • Expanded digital tools for emergency preparedness and mental health care
  • Culturally responsive outreach from trained community health workers and therapists
  • A stronger, more connected maternal health network

At the Arkansas Center for Women & Infants’ Health, our goal is simple: make sure every woman in Arkansas has access to the care and support she needs. We’re grateful to our partners and communities in South Arkansas for helping make this possible and look forward to building a stronger network of care together.
