The weeks after giving birth can be risky, and support isn’t always easy to find. That’s why we’ve launched the Proactive Postpartum Call Center, the first statewide model of its kind, to make sure every new mom gets a check-in from a trained nurse in the days after delivery.

Since May, our nurses have begun calling moms across the state to talk through recovery, answer questions, and help connect families to resources ranging from lactation support to diapers, housing assistance, or insurance re-enrollment.

So far, we’ve contacted more than 1,900 women, and we’re expanding quickly. Six hospitals are already participating, and we’re working toward full statewide participation from all 33 birthing hospitals by the end of the year.

These outreach calls, and the quick connections to care that follow, are one more way we are building a stronger, more responsive network for families across the state. We’re grateful to our hospital partners, health care teams, and communities for helping make this possible. Together, we’re creating a safer, more supportive postpartum experience for every Arkansas mom.
